I am inspired by things around me in terms of nature, landscapes, flowers, the sea, but also paintings and other forms of art that might suggest beautiful colour combinations and just give a spark of an idea that makes me wonder how and if I could make something in glass using the idea.
All pieces are fired in a kiln and a lot of my pieces require multiple firings, which take a minimum of 24 hours. My work is not meant to be totally accurate to life but more a representation to help conjure images.
I particularly love turquoise and blue, and tend to use these colours quite a lot in my work. All my pieces use hand cut glass and therefore whilst pieces might be similar, each piece will be individual.
